In the University\u2019s emerging cybersecurity program, students will have the opportunity to how to identify and report cybersecurity threats, prevent or halt them, and how to conduct forensics following incidents in order to determine their impact and potentially ascertain information about the threat actors responsible. Students will learn from faculty with real-world experience at companies like IBM and Goodyear. In the coming years, the program aims to move beyond a simulated cybersecurity environment to launch a commercial Secure Operations Center staffed by a blend of students, interns, faculty, and cybersecurity professionals to provide regional business, industry, and nonprofits with tier one threat detection services. Learning and working I this real-world business setting will give student a tremendous headstart over many others that typically do not go beyond simulated classroom learning.<\/p>\n

Students can also learn to operate and maintain drones and GIS systems that are used in a wide range of industries including heavy civil and building construction as well as monitoring and maintaining rail systems, power lines, and roads.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
