Our staff is available to proctor exams Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. For scheduling and staffing purposes, we request that exams be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance.
With sufficient notice (48 hours) special arrangements can be made to have an exam proctored after business hours. However, exams that need to be proctored after normal business hours will not begin until 5:30 p.m. The GTC is closed from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Please follow the same procedures as you would for scheduling an exam to be proctored during normal business hours.
Inclusive Testing for Students with Disabilities:
The primary function of the GTC is to remove barriers from the testing process that would prevent students with disabilities from having the same opportunity as their peers to be evaluated for their ability rather than their disability. Students with disabilities always take the same exam as their peers are taking the exam in the classroom. Although accommodations will be made to make the testing experience accessible and inclusive, no changes will be made to the content or level of difficulty of the exam itself. We are committed to equity and academic integrity.
The Griffon Testing Center has a limited capacity to proctor an occasional make-up exam for an instructor who has extended this opportunity to a student as the result of an excused absence. Please follow the same procedures as you would for scheduling any other type of exam in the GTC. Please keep in mind that our top priority is to maintain a quiet testing environment where distractions are kept to a minimum. If it becomes necessary to re-schedule a make-up exam, our staff will contact you to make alternative arrangements.
Testing Services Request Form:
Please use this form to schedule any exam that needs to be proctored in the Griffon Testing Center. When completing this form, please take this opportunity to upload your exam. Receiving the exam and the request form in the same email is GREATLY appreciated.
Completed exams can be picked up in the Counseling Center, Eder Hall 203. All exams must be signed for by the instructor, or a representative of the instructor’s department, before the exam can be removed from the Counseling Center.
Academic Honesty Policy:
If we witness a student cheating on an exam, the student’s instructor will receive a detailed report of the incident.
Absence and Tardiness Policy:
Any student who is absent or more than 15 minutes late for their exam will not be allowed to take their exam without first speaking directly with their instructor regarding the possibility of a make-up exam.
