Missouri Western Magazine Wins Award
Missouri Western Magazine, a publication of the University Advancement Office for alumni and friends of Missouri Western, has been honored with an Award of Distinction, the Silver Communicator Award, in the 20th annual Communicator Awards, sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts. Diane Holtz is editor of Missouri Western Magazine. Kendy Jones ’94 is design editor.
Commemorate Griffon Softball’s MIAA Tournament Championship with Poster and DVD Set
Griffon Softball won the MIAA Softball Tournament Championship for the first time in school history in 2014. To commemorate this outstanding feat, own a part of history by purchasing the poster and DVD set. The 24 x 36 poster and highlight DVD may be purchased for $40, plus $5 for shipping. Summer 1st 4-Week Final Grades
Beginning July 3rd, you can view your 1st 4-week final grades through GoldLink. Use the Student Academics tab, Student Records and either Final Grades, Unofficial transcript or Griffon GPS to view the information. If you took a 1st 4-week class which does not appear with a grade, or still appears as “In Progress” on your transcript, please contact the instructor of the class or the appropriate academic department.
Children’s Summer Camp Sign Up: First Come First Serve
Heartland Foundation and Missouri Western are offering a variety of half-day summer camps for children in 4th through 7th grade. Camps will be offered from June 23 through July 25. Click here for additional information and registration.
The Music Man opens this Friday!
Western Playhouse invites you to attend a performance of Meredith Willson's beloved musical The Music Man.

Performances are June 20, 21, 26, 27, 28 at 7:30 p.m. and June 22 at 2:00 p.m. in Potter Theater.
Tickets are $22.50 for adults. Children under 17 are $9.50 each for the first two, then $1.00 for each additional child.
Missouri Western faculty and staff tickets are $15.00 for adults and $6.00 for children.
College students may purchase tickets for $12.00 each with a valid ID. Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets for $18.00 each. Groups of 20 or more can purchase tickets for $15.00 each.
St. Joseph Symphony Announces 2014-2015 Season
The Saint Joseph Symphony unveils its program for the 2014-15 Concert Season under the baton of Music Director Rico McNeela.

Four major concerts at the Missouri Theater feature the entire orchestra as well as outstanding soloists. Opening the season on September 27 is “Meet Me at the Movies,” and will feature favorite music from movies like The Magnificent Seven, Vertigo, Last of the Mohicans, The Natural, Gladiator, and Star Wars.
The New Generation Singers join the Symphony to celebrate the Christmas season with its annual “Holiday Pops” concert.
In the spring, on March 28, 2015, violinist and concert master for the New York City Ballet Arturo Delmoni shares the stage for “Sounds of Spring,” a concert including Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 “Pastoral” and Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto Op. 64.
Closing the season on April 25, 2015 “American Inspiration” brings together several area choirs to perform Welcome Table: A Mass of Spirituals and will showcase vocalists Kim and Reggie Harris. This concert will also include Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess Suite.

The three concerts in the Symphony’s Chamber Series are held at various venues around St. Joseph. Small ensembles of some of the finest musicians from the Symphony play a wide range of repertoire in Classical and Contemporary styles. These events are scheduled for November 9, January 18, and a Valentine’s concert on February 14.

Several season ticket options are available for adults and students from $24 to $180. Single ticket prices range from $10 - $43, and children and students are half price.

Order tickets online, by phone at 816-233-7701, or at the Symphony office at 120 South 8th Street in St. Joseph. Symphony office hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5p.m.
Attention Fall 2014 Graduates
The Registrar’s Office would like to remind all students who are planning on graduating this Fall with a certificate, associate, baccalaureate, or master’s degree that the graduation application Priority Deadline is July 1, 2014. Please note an additional $25 late fee will be applied to applications received after the fifth day of the Fall semester. Applications are available in the Registrar’s Office, Eder 102, or online here.
Graduation applications received by the above Priority Deadline are guaranteed to be reviewed prior to the start of the semester and the resulting official graduation check will be emailed to your Missouri Western email account and to your advisor on record. Graduation applications received after the Priority Deadline will be reviewed and a graduation check completed in the order the application is received.
