How to Apply

The first step to success is completing an application to be a graduate student at Western.

All students must complete an online application for admission to the Graduate School.

Applications deadlines are July 15 for fall semesters, November 1 for spring semester and April 29 for the summer session. All applications materials must be submitted by these deadlines to allow adequate time for review by the Admissions Office staff and graduate program admission committees.

Some programs require a separate applications or  the submission of specific materials for review prior to acceptance in the program. See the table below for a complete list of a program specific requirements.

International Students

Requirements

Entrance to the Graduate School requires a minimum 2.75 undergraduate grade point average (GPA) based on a 4.0 scale or previously earned masters degree. A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university is required for graduate admission. An official transcript showing granting of a degree and official GPA is required from the institution that issued your bachelor’s degree or previous Master’s degree.
