No portion of MoWest and Foundation scholarship funds may be disbursed to the recipient in the form of cash or a \u2018credit balance\u2019 check. Scholarships specifically allocated for the payment of book costs will be exempt from this policy. A student with documentable circumstances beyond his or her control or personal choice will have the option to appeal this rule. Prior to submitting an application, contact the basic law enforcement academy to confirm the academy start date, the cost of the basic academy, and any financial aid you will receive that does\u00a0<\/span><b>not<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0have to be repaid, such as a Federal Pell Grant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can apply for the Missouri Blue Scholarship prior to the start of basic training, but\u00a0<\/span><b>you must be attending a basic training academy to receive the Blue Scholarship.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0Only one scholarship application should be submitted per person. You will receive a confirmation email once your scholarship application has been received.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">*A non-sponsored law enforcement academy recruit is one whose tuition is not being paid by a law enforcement agency. To learn more about these options, visit your local <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.mo.gov\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Job Center<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-panel panel-default fusion-toggle-no-divider fusion-toggle-boxed-mode\" role=\"tabpanel\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><h4 class=\"panel-title toggle\"><a aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-selected=\"false\" aria-controls=\"c01ce0d59a5783077\" role=\"tab\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion-4197-3\" data-target=\"#c01ce0d59a5783077\" href=\"#c01ce0d59a5783077\"><span class=\"fusion-toggle-icon-wrapper\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><i class=\"fa-fusion-box\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"fusion-toggle-heading\">Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div><div id=\"c01ce0d59a5783077\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \"><div class=\"panel-body toggle-content fusion-clearfix\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant is a program designed to provide adults with the education and skills needed to enter the workforce in fields that are in high demand.\u00a0 Changes to the program made during the 2022 legislative session became effective on August 28, 2022. They increased the number of eligible training providers and expanded the program to include apprenticeships.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Additionally, the grant no longer converts to a loan that must be repaid if recipients fail to live and work in Missouri for three years after completing their program or apprenticeship.\u00a0 However, recipients are still required to report their employment and residency to the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development for three years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fast Track serves both students and apprentices by providing grants to assist with coursework tuition and general fees or direct costs of an apprenticeship such as tools, books and uniforms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students must be enrolled in a designated program of study at a participating Missouri school.\u00a0 Apprentices must be participating in an apprenticeship in Missouri that is approved by the U.S. Department of Labor and that prepares them for employment in a high demand field as designed by the department.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To be eligible, you must:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Be either<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">At least 25 years old, or<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you are a student, have not enrolled in an educational program (high school or postsecondary) in the last two years, or<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you are an apprentice, have not been enrolled in a postsecondary program in the last two years, unless the program relates to your current apprenticeship.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Be a Missouri resident, an active-duty member of the U.S. military transferred to Missouri, or the spouse of an active-duty military member.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you are a student who is a Missouri resident, you must have been a Missouri resident for at least two years prior to receiving the grant.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Apprentices need to be a Missouri resident, but do not need to be a resident for at least two years prior to receiving the grant.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Have filed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00ae<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), if applicable.\u00a0 Check with your provider to see if a FAFSA<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00ae\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">is required to determine your Fast Track award.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Have a federal adjusted gross income as documented on your most recent Missouri 1040 Individual Income Tax Return (or federal 1040 form if you\u2019re active-duty military) of either:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">$80,000 or less if your tax filing status is married filing jointly, or<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">$40,000 or less for any other tax filing status.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For students, enroll in an eligible program at least half-time.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For apprentices, be formally participating in a U.S. Department of Labor-approved and DHEWD designated apprenticeship and meeting any requirements defined by your apprenticeship provider.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Have not yet received a bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For a renewal student, defined as an individual who has received a Fast Track grant in a previous academic year, you must meet all of the above requirements and, in addition, must be making satisfactory academic progress, must maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average and have not received a bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For a renewal apprentice, defined as an individual who has received a Fast Track grant in a previous award year, you must meet all the above requirements and, in addition, must maintain active apprenticeship status and not have received a bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-panel panel-default fusion-toggle-no-divider fusion-toggle-boxed-mode\" role=\"tabpanel\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><h4 class=\"panel-title toggle\"><a aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-selected=\"false\" aria-controls=\"8338fbf6d473a2546\" role=\"tab\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion-4197-3\" data-target=\"#8338fbf6d473a2546\" href=\"#8338fbf6d473a2546\"><span class=\"fusion-toggle-icon-wrapper\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><i class=\"fa-fusion-box\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"fusion-toggle-heading\">Federal Student Aid<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div><div id=\"8338fbf6d473a2546\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \"><div class=\"panel-body toggle-content fusion-clearfix\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Law Enforcement Academy <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">is not a Title IV-eligible program<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and therefore <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">does not qualify for Federal Financial Aid<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (Pell Grants or Federal Direct Loans).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-panel panel-default fusion-toggle-no-divider fusion-toggle-boxed-mode\" role=\"tabpanel\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><h4 class=\"panel-title toggle\"><a aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-selected=\"false\" aria-controls=\"a1eea6e7f802d6c34\" role=\"tab\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion-4197-3\" data-target=\"#a1eea6e7f802d6c34\" href=\"#a1eea6e7f802d6c34\"><span class=\"fusion-toggle-icon-wrapper\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><i class=\"fa-fusion-box\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><span
