Missouri Western Scholarships - Pre-Professional

Dr. Gilbert Kelley Pre-Med Scholarship
This scholarship has been established in memory of Dr. Gilbert Gib Kelley; a former member of Missouri Western State University’s Foundation Board. This scholarship will be awarded to a student preparing to attend medical school; with a minimum 3.0 GPA who has completed sophomore or higher level. Financial need will be considered.

Dr. H.E. Petersen Pre-Med Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a student preparing to attend medical school who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrates financial need.

Dr. Wayne Toothaker Memorial Scholarship
The interest from this endowment is available to a student who is taking pre-medical courses and expects to enter a medical profession.

Edward M. Hirsch Pre-Med Scholarship
Established in honor of Edward M. Hirsch; this scholarship will be awarded to a student preparing to attend medical school with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and in need of financial assistance.

Ensworth Medical Education Scholarship
The Ensworth Medical Scholarship is available to MWSU graduate who has been accepted to medical school. Applicant must have at least 60 credit hours at MWSU and must have graduated from MWSU.  A letter of acceptance from an accredited medical school is required.  Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

F. Gregg Thompson Memorial Scholarship
A scholarship fund has been established by a contribution from the F. Gregg Thompson Foundation. The interest from this fund will be awarded annually by the Scholarship Committee with preference given to a student in the pre-medical field. If a pre-medical student is not available; the committee may select a biological science student to receive the scholarship. Financial need is not necessarily the major element in the awarding of the scholarship; however if applicants have equal academic standing; financial need will be the deciding factor.

M. Partamian & K. Bananshahi Scholarship
Established by Drs. Krikor and Kay Partamian in honor of their Mothers. The scholarship is for a Pre-Med / Biology major with a minimum 3.0 GPA and a Buchanan County resident. Financial need will be a consideration for a sophomore or higher level. Two letters of reference are required.

Science Scholarship Fund
Interest from this fund provides scholarships for students who have completed at least one semester successfully at MWSU and are interested in pursuing a pre-professional degree in science. Financial need; scholastic ability; and commitment are also selection factors.

Theodore C. Kiekhaefer Scholarship
Established by family and friends in memory of Dr. Theodore C. Kiekhaefer. Dr. Kiekhaefer was the founder of the Med Clinic of St. Joseph and Savannah. He created many jobs in health care and mentored many young people aspiring to make a career of helping others. Students should be interested in; and progressing toward a medically related field such as medicine; nursing; x-ray technology; etc. A GPA of 2.5 or higher is required. Recipients may be undergraduate or graduate.
