Spanish at MWSU

Learning Spanish provides the invaluable opportunity to communicate, understand, and live in diverse cultures and societies. In addition to learning language skills and developing cultural awareness, you will grow academically and intellectually: learning another language means gaining a new perspective on the world. Given the ever-increasing ease of communication across borders, cross-cultural knowledge is essential, regardless of your career path. Learning to recognize and appreciate diversity will prepare you for the challenges of a global society.

Spanish, the official language in twenty-one countries in Latin America, Africa and Europe, is the second language spoken in the U.S. (MLA statistics), and is the second language in the world spoken as a native tongue.
