{"id":1803,"date":"2020-08-05T13:19:49","date_gmt":"2020-08-05T18:19:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.missouriwestern.edu\/covid-19\/?p=1803"},"modified":"2020-08-17T11:21:31","modified_gmt":"2020-08-17T16:21:31","slug":"recreation-services-facilities-covid-19-procedures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.missouriwestern.edu\/covid-19\/2020\/08\/05\/recreation-services-facilities-covid-19-procedures\/","title":{"rendered":"Recreation Services Facilities &#8211; COVID-19 Procedures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Phase 1: August 10 &#8211; September 30, 2020<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to current facility policies and procedures, the following policies will be implemented in order to cope with the COVID-19 Pandemic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Baker Family Fitness Center (BFFC)<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Operating Hours:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Monday through Friday, 5:30AM &#8211; 10:00PM<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saturday &amp; Sunday, 10:00AM &#8211; 5:00PM<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check-In\u2019s<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Patrons will show the photo on their ID to the student employee to confirm card ownership.\u00a0 Once confirmed and the student employees have the system ready, patrons will then swipe their ID\u2019s to enter the facility.\u00a0 Should equipment be needed in the facility, cards may either be swiped again or the patron may verbally give their G# to the student employee checking out the piece of equipment.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Guests not permitted.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student employees will no longer handle ID cards.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Patrons no longer have to swipe to exit the facility.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Masks<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: The CDC recommends wearing \u201ccloth face coverings\u201d (masks) in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. Proper mask wearing will be required for all patrons not actively engaged in exercise.\u00a0 Leniency will be granted for patrons while they are \u201cin between sets\u201d.\u00a0 However, if socialization is noticed without masks patrons will be asked to put them on.\u00a0 If non-compliant, patrons will be asked to leave.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proper mask wearing means that the mask is covering both the mouth and nose.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Full-time staff will wear masks while moving around the facility.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Full-time staff may remove masks while working in their office.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student employees will wear masks while on duty.\u00a0 Will be allowed to remove masks when eating\/drinking.<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Locker Rooms<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Locker rooms in the facility will be closed until further notice.\u00a0 Patrons are encouraged to arrive in workout attire, if possible. Should patrons need to store items, cubbies will be made available. The front restroom will remain open to patrons and staff.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cleaning Materials<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Additional cleaning supplies will be placed throughout the facility.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additional hand sanitizer dispensers will be provided throughout the facility.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additional cleaning rags will be provided to aid in cleaning efficiency.\u00a0 Rags are to then be placed in laundry collection bins, so they can be laundered.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cleaning Regulations<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Patrons are expected to clean each piece of equipment after they have completed their use of it.\u00a0 If non-compliant, patrons will be asked to leave.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student employees will increase their cleaning regimen during each hour of operations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Water Fountains<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Water fountains will be closed for direct drinking usage.\u00a0 However, the water bottle dispensers will be available to patrons.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Patrons are expected to bring their own water bottles.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Patrons needing a bottle may purchase a bottle of water from the vending machine at the front of the building.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student employees will add water fountain cleaning to their cleaning regimens.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Equipment<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Some of the equipment will be roped off\/closed to patrons in order to enforce social distancing.\u00a0 Patrons who ignore signs on machines and use them for their workouts will be asked to leave.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Looney Complex &#8211; Old Gym<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Operating Hours:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Monday through Friday, 4:00PM &#8211; 8:00PM<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saturday, 10:00AM &#8211; 5:00PM<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sunday, Closed<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check-In\u2019s<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Patrons will swipe their ID\u2019s to enter\/exit the facility.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student employees will no longer handle ID cards<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Masks<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: The CDC recommends wearing \u201ccloth face coverings\u201d (masks) in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. Locker rooms and restrooms will be cleaned daily, on a rotating schedule, by campus custodial staff.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Thomas Eagleton Indoor Pool<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Operating Hours:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">11AM &#8211; 1PM Monday through Friday<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">7PM &#8211; 8:30PM Monday through Thursday<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saturday &amp; Sunday, Closed<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contracted organizations by appointment (e.g. high school swim teams)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Available to:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Current MWSU ID Card Holders<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Punch Card Holders<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prepaid, daily admission customers<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Important CDC and operational information<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A minimum of 3 staff (3 lifeguards or 2 lifeguards and one desk staff certified in CPro or BLS) are needed at all times to meet CDC and MAHC staffing guidelines, along with Red Cross staffing needs for rescue standards.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The pool water sanitation levels should be maintained at a minimum of 2.0ppm to meet current CDC and USA Swimming recommendations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check-In\u2019s<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student employees will no longer handle ID cards.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ID cards will be swiped by the user then shown through the ticket booth window to verify the photo ID.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All punch cards will be on file in the ticket booth. There will no longer be an exchange of these cards to eliminate person to person contact.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Users wishing to pay the daily $4 drop-in fee will need to do so through the Parks &amp; Recreation Department\u2019s online registration program.\u00a0 This can be done at www.stjoeparks.info<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Masks<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Persons entering the pool area will be required to properly wear masks when not actively swimming in the water.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Full-time staff will wear masks while moving around the facility.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Full-time staff may remove masks while working in their office.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student employees will wear masks while on duty.\u00a0 Will be allowed to remove masks when eating\/drinking.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Locker Rooms<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pool locker rooms and restrooms remain open to the public.
