Classes are scheduled to begin on Monday, Aug. 31.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to welcoming students back to campus for an exceptional fall semester of teaching, learning and engaging on campus,\u201d said President Matt Wilson. \u201cWe realize current and prospective students have experienced many disruptions this year, and we have made adjustments to help ease the process of applying for and attending college.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Admissions process changes recently implemented include waiving ACT and SAT testing admission requirements, extending automatic scholarship deadlines to Aug. 31 and delaying housing deposits until fall. The Admissions Office also has expanded its online visit, orientation and campus tour options.<\/p>\n<p>As Missouri Western seeks to reopen responsibly for the fall semester, it plans on offering a range of in-person, online and hybrid courses.\u00a0 Based on the experience from spring semester, Missouri Western will remain flexible in order to serve and accommodate students and employees based on the guidelines issued by the CDC, state authorities and local officials.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are prepared to quickly adapt to changing circumstances, if needed, to meet the needs of our campus community so students should rest assured,\u201d added President Wilson. \u201cWe are committed to delivering a high-quality education while supporting vulnerable students, staff, faculty and others who may not be comfortable physically returning to campus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Most Missouri Western students haven\u2019t been on campus since spring break began on March 6. On March 18, Missouri Western announced that there would be no more in-person classes and instruction for the remainder of the spring semester would pivot to alternative delivery methods.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.missouriwestern.edu\/news\/2020\/04\/10\/summer-classes-offered-100-percent-online\/\">Summer semester classes, beginning May 26, are being offered online only<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI very much appreciate the flexibility of our campus community as we have worked together to overcome unprecedented challenges in the spring and summer semesters,\u201d President Wilson said. \u201cRegardless of what comes our way, we are deeply committed to our important mission of education and preparing students for success.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>May 22, 2020\u2013Missouri Western State University continues to make plans to offer classes on campus this fall.
