Campus mask, physical distancing adjustments

A message from Dr. Elizabeth Kennedy, Missouri Western president: Greetings, As you probably saw in the news, the CDC has updated its guidance regarding face coverings and physical distancing for those who have been fully vaccinated. In accordance with these changes, we are updating our face covering policy and our physical distancing policy. Briefly, effective immediately: if you are fully vaccinated, you are not required to wear a face covering or observe physical distancing if you have not been fully vaccinated, face coverings are still required in all indoor spaces and physical distancing is required whenever possible. COVID-19 protocol adjustments

As promised, the COVID response team met April 9, two weeks following the end of Spring Break, to review the data and consider changes to our COVID-19 safety protocols. Also encouraging is the moderate level of community transmission and the recent drop in hospitalizations locally.  While these are encouraging signs, we are concerned about the vaccination rates: Missouri has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the country, and Buchanan County’s rate is below [...]

COVID-19 Update

Good afternoon, I hope that you have had a great first week of the semester. I want to provide a few COVID-19 updates. First, I want to let you know that the COVID-19 Task Force has been closely monitoring our prevention strategies and cases on campus. We currently have 8 students or employees who have self-reported being positive for COVID-19. Most are isolating off campus and thankfully, no one has required hospitalization. Please continue to encourage people to self report [...]
