Her mom encouraged her to try Missouri Western, which is an hour away from her home in Kansas City. \u201cYou\u2019re far, but you\u2019re not too far. Once I actually got here, I realized it was very beneficial to be an hour away. You\u2019re far, but you\u2019re not too far,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"fusion-video fusion-youtube\" style=\"max-width:600px;max-height:360px;\"><div class=\"video-shortcode\"><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zyRNgk3cQLI?wmode=transparent&autoplay=0&amp;rel=0\" width=\"600\" height=\"360\" allowfullscreen allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"fusion-sep-clear\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;margin-top:20px;width:100%;\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-sep-clear\"><\/div><\/p>\n<h3 data-fontsize=\"20\" data-lineheight=\"30\">Missouri Western Dance Company<\/h3>\n<p>Briana is a dancer and wanted to be able to experience many genres of dance than what the Mystic Dance Team had to offer. \u201cOnce I got more connected with people on campus, and the Missouri Western Dance Company was founded, I was able to do so many different styles of dance,\u201d she said. \u201cWe\u2019re such a diverse group. I love the team.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 data-fontsize=\"20\" data-lineheight=\"30\">Yearbook<\/h3>\n<p>Working for the yearbook has provided Briana with experiences that she doesn\u2019t believe she could have gotten at another university. One of the first stories Briana covered was about a mentalist that performed on campus. After the show, she was able to interview the mentalist and he chose to use some of her photos for promotion online. \u201cI was able to get some of my work shown on Instagram,\u201d she said. \u201cIt was a lot of exposure for me that I did not know would happen.
