COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY – If the Saturday, December 14, Commencement Ceremony is cancelled due to inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to Sunday, December 15, at 2:00 p.m. in the Looney Complex. Students should report to the small gym in Looney at 1:00 p.m. Family and guests will be able to enter the arena at 1:00 p.m. The procession will begin at 2:00 p.m.

If there is inclement weather on Saturday and Sunday, the Commencement Ceremony will be cancelled.

HOODING CEREMONY – If inclement weather prohibits the Hooding Ceremony on Friday evening from happening, all Masters students are welcome to join in the Commencement ceremony. They will be given their hoods when they check in before the ceremony and will wear their hood across the stage. They will be given their diplomas at the Commencement Ceremony.

NURSES PINNING – The backup date for the Nurses Pinning will be 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 15.

LIVE STREAMING – The Commencement Ceremony will be live streamed, no matter when it happens, and will be made available to view online soon after the ceremony has concluded. Look for the links on the Commencement web page to watch it being live streamed or for viewing online after the ceremony.

Should there be inclement weather on the day of Commencement, please keep informed about the latest updates:

1.) Check the Missouri Western State University website regarding any change to the ceremony.

2.) Students may sign up for Commencement updates and alerts through Missouri Western’s Griffon Alert system. Only Missouri Western students can sign up for the Griffon alerts. Family and friends of graduates will not be able to use this service, so graduates should keep their family and friends informed.
