Research Interests:

Environmental analysis of metals in soils using handheld X-ray Fluroescence Spectrometry. Also, the development of laboratory experiments for analytical chemistry courses.

“Continued Peer Mentoring through the Use of Chemistry Laboratory Assistants/Tutors” Fall 2000 - 2006. MWSC Access Plus Funding. Total Award: $10,000. [This grant to support for the Chemistry Student Mentor Program was renewed for every year until the funds were transferred directly into departmental student labor account in 2006.]

“Peer Mentoring through the Use of Chemistry Laboratory Assistants/Tutors” Fall 1999. MWSC Total award: $10,000. [Funding was used to establish Chemistry Student Mentoring Program.]

“Science and Math Showcase”, obtained funding to support production of an open house for recruiting in science and math from the LAS Chairs Strategic Initiative Funding, 2004. Total award: $1600.

“Chemathon 2004” Spring 2004. Funding of $1950 awarded for support of Chemathon competition from MWSU/C Foundation. [This grant was repeatedly applied for and renewed for Chemathon 2005 – 2007, and 2009, with an additional $2000 being awarded for special “30 Anniversary Activities” in 2007.]
