Centennial: 100 Years of Transforming Lives

President's Message

Dr-Vartabedian-Clock-TowerDear friends,

As I have often said, Missouri Western State University doesn’t just change lives – it transforms them.

From our founding in 1915 as the St. Joseph Junior College, to our evolution to a thriving University, our commitment to providing a high quality, affordable education to students in our region has never wavered. More than 25,000 alumni have walked through our doors, transforming their lives, and the lives of their family, community, nation and world. The story of Missouri Western State University starts, and continues, with each and every one of you.

Our Centennial year offers us a chance to reflect with pride on all we have accomplished in the past 100 years, and look forward with anticipation to all that lays ahead.

It also provides us an opportunity to gather together and celebrate. We should be proud of our past, and excited for our future. I hope you will join us as we celebrate all that has been, and all there is to come.

Sincerely,

Robert A. Vartabedian
President, Missouri Western State University
