Other Fees by Type

Fees are subject to change without notice. Fees are payable at registration, and registration will not be considered complete unless all fees have been paid. Fee types are grouped and explained below.

Mandatory Fees

Mandatory fees apply to all students and are included in the Tuition & Fee tables in the Cost of Tuition, Housing & Fees section of this website.

  • SGA – Student Government Association Fee – The fee is $30.00 for students enrolled in less than 12 hours. The fee is $50.00 for students enrolled in 12 hours or more. The fee is $5.00 during the summer session. This fee supports student initiatives and activities such as: student clubs and organizations; special events, such as concerts; homecoming; and free local, regional and national newspapers, etc.
  • Yearbook Fee – The fee is $5.00 for students enrolled in 9 or more hours. The fee entitles students who enroll in a minimum of 9 hours in the fall semester and 9 hours in the spring semester to a yearbook without any additional cost.
  • Facilities Access Fee – The fee is assessed at a rate of $12.50 per credit hour up to a maximum of $150.00 per semester. The fee is used for the maintenance of our general and departmental computer labs, streets, parking lots, sidewalks, buildings, etc.
  • Max Experience Fee – The fee is assessed at a rate of $5.00 per credit hour up to a maximum of $60.00 per semester. The fee provides funds for athletic facility improvements, as well as programs to enhance student experiences at athletic events, which includes free admission and concession benefits.
  • Instructional Support Fee – The fee is assessed at a rate of $1.60 per credit hour up to a maximum of $19.20 per semester. The fee is used to maintain our smart classrooms with the necessary technical equipment needed for instruction. It is also used to maintain our mainframe computer system and its infrastructure, library services, etc.
  • Student Service Support Fee – The fee is $50.00 for students enrolled in less than 12 hours. The fee is $75.00 for students enrolled in 12 or more hours. The fee is $25.00 during the summer session. The fee supports the student services area of campus, such as Center for Academic Support, Career Services, Student Success Center, Student Life, etc.

Art Fee

Criminal Justice Fee

  • Course Specific Lab Fees – $40 per lab

Computer Assisted Course Fee

  • Assessed on courses that meet in a computer lab at least 8 hours/semester and less than 25 hours – $35 per course

Computer Intensive Course Fee

  • Assessed on courses that meet in a computer lab at least 25 hours – $45 per course

Developmental Course Fees

  • English 100 – $90
  • Mathematics 081 or 083 (per course) – $90
  • Reading Development 095 – $90

Journalism Fees

  • Journalism Technology Fee – $50 per credit hour

Music Fees

  • Applied Music Fee – Major/Secondary Instrument (per credit hour) – $100

  • Instrument Usage Fee – $100 (assessed to students not owning their own instrument)

Nursing Fees

Science Fees

  • One-time Application Fee (nonrefundable) – International students – $50

Testing Fees

  • ACT Residual – $60
  • C-Base – $65 Early Registration; $75 Late Registration
  • MoGEA (will be phased in starting in September 2013 and will take the place of C-Base on 1/1/14) – Sitting fee: $25/full 5-test series; or $5/single subject)
  • CLEP – $110
  • Department Test-Out – $110
  • Miller Analogies – $80
  • Proctoring Fee for Other Institution’s Tests – $30

Transcript Fee – $10

Other Fees

  • Audit Tuition and Fees – same as credit tuition and fees
  • Late Registration Fee – $50
  • New Student Registration Fee – $120 (one time charge assessed only during the first semester of enrollment)
