Dr. Don Kuratko Visits Missouri Western

Dr. Don Kuratko, a prominent scholar and national leader in the field of entrepreneurship, spoke on “Entrepreneurial Imperative” at Missouri Western State University on March 20.

DrK01In his talk, Dr. Kuratko provided unique insights into unleashing innovation within organizations, reinvigorating individuals for innovation, understanding entrepreneurial thinking, breaking old paradigms and discovering barriers to innovation.

About Dr. Kuratko
Dr. Kuratko is the Jack M. Gill Distinguished Chair of Entrepreneurship Professor of Entrepreneurship; Executive and Academic Director, Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in Bloomington. He has authored or co-authored over 190 articles and 30 books on aspects of entrepreneurship and corporate innovation.

Additionally, Dr. Kuratko has been consultant on corporate innovation to a number of major Fortune 100 corporations and he is the executive director of the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers, an organization of over 250 top university entrepreneurship centers throughout the world.

DrK02Dr. Kuratko was honored by his peers in Entrepreneur magazine as the number one entrepreneurship program director in the nation, as well as being selected one of the top entrepreneurship professors in the U.S. by Fortune magazine.

Dr. Kuratko has been named one of the Top 50 Entrepreneurship Scholars in the world and was the recipient of the Riata Distinguished Entrepreneurship Scholar Award. In 2011 he was the inaugural recipient of the Karl Vesper Entrepreneurship Pioneer Award for his career dedication to developing the field of entrepreneurship. The National Academy of Management honored Dr. Kuratko with one of the highest awards bestowed in entrepreneurship – the Entrepreneurship Advocate Award – for his contributions to the development and advancement of the discipline of entrepreneurship.

DrK03Under Dr. Kuratko’s leadership, Indiana University’s entrepreneurship program has been consistently ranked the number one business school for entrepreneurship research by the world rankings for entrepreneurship productivity as well as the number one graduate business school for entrepreneurship and the number one undergraduate business school for entrepreneurship by U.S. News & World Report and Fortune magazines.
