10px;\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-1\" style=\"font-size:12pt;transform:translate3d(0,0,0);\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MoWest students have the opportunity to be selected into the Partners Program with the Kansas City University (KCU).\u00a0 This program is designed for outstanding students interested in Dental Medicine to enter KCU College of Dental Medicine following their junior year.\u00a0 Following successful completion of the first year of dental school at KCU-Joplin campus, appropriate credits will be transferred to MoWest and students will be awarded a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Biology\/Health Science concentration.\u00a0 Students will be selected in the sophomore year based on the following criteria:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ACT score- 24 minimum<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Freshman year academic performance (minimum 3.25 GPA\/3.50 Science GPA)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Community service<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Extracurricular activities<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dental shadowing experiences<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Knowledge of and dedication to the field of dentistry.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To be considered, students must make application to the committee no later than the advertised deadline during the fall semester of the sophomore year.\u00a0 Selection of qualified applicants will be made by the MoWest Health Professions Advisory Committee following an interview.\u00a0 Selected students will then complete an online application with KCU and complete the required steps.\u00a0 Final selection into the Partners Program is made by the KCU Admissions Committee.\u00a0 Selected students must declare a Biology\/Health Science major at MoWest and complete the following academic requirements by the end of the junior year:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\" style=\"font-size:12pt;transform:translate3d(0,0,0);\"><p>A minimum of 90 credits, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All MoWest General Studies Courses required for graduation<\/li>\n<li>All MoWest Biology Major Core requirements (see college catalog or department)<\/li>\n<li>PHY 111 Physics II (4 credit hours)<\/li>\n<li>A 400;\">To remain in the Partners Program, students must maintain an overall GPA of 3.25 and a science GPA of 3.5 with all science classes earning a grade of \u201cC\u201d or better.\u00a0 Failure to maintain these academic standards will result in dismissal from the program.\u00a0 The DAT will not be required for admission through this early matriculation Partners Program but admitted students must complete and submit a DAT score prior to matriculation.
