The Department of Art offers ten degree minors in:
- Art History

- Graphic Design
What is a Minor?
A degree minor is intended for students seeking an academic focus in addition to their declared major. Although a minor is only available to matriculated students pursuing a baccalaureate degree at Missouri Western State University, it is not required for graduation. A complete list of degree minors and respective courses can be found here.
Declaring a Minor
A student cannot get a minor in the same area as their major, emphasis, or concentration. Minor coursework must consist of a minimum of four credit hours beyond the student’s major, emphasis, concentration, and general studies requirements.
Requirements for All Minors
To be awarded a minor, an overall GPA of at least 2.0 must be earned in the required minor coursework unless a higher standard is noted for a specific minor program. The same course in a degree minor may be used to fulfill major course requirements unless stated in a major or minor. Substitution courses are not allowed.
