The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Animation degree at Missouri Western State University reflects the convergence of computers and art, and emphasizes working with 2D and 3D graphics in a computer-based, graphics-intensive environment. Our program is designed to create a well-rounded artist through traditional hand-drawn skills to 3D animation. The degree provides an art student the opportunity to become proficient in skills that are useful for producing a wide range of products for cinema, gaming, science and medical visualization, broadcast television and interactive media.
We have two Macintosh Computer Art labs. One lab is equipped with 20 Mac Pro computers with 17 inch monitors, 3 CINTIQs monitors, 1 large bed scanner, Wacom tablets, 1 Epson large format inkjet printer, projection screen and a laser printer. Our second lab is equipped with 18 iMac computers and 5 Mac Pro computers with 27 inch monitors, 4 Epson large format inkjet printers, 3 Microtec large bed scanners.
We have the latest in industry animation and gaming software, including UNITY game engine, UNREAL game engine, Smart Skinner (rigging software), Autodesk Maya and Mudbox, V-Ray, Pftrack and Final Cut Pro X. We have the latest in design Adobe Creative Cloud Collection, which includes Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver, Premiere and After Effects.
