As national and global concerns over the spread of COVID-19 grew, the NCAA announced the cancellation of all winter and spring sports championships. Consequently, the MIAA canceled all spring competition with about one-third of the softball and baseball seasons completed.<\/p>\n
The final spring competition by any Griffon team came on March 11 as softball completed a come-from-behind victory over Illinois Springfield in eight innings. Softball finished the shortened season with a 13-9 record with just two MIAA games completed, both wins for the Griffons.<\/p>\n
Baseball was 8-15 after a three-game sweep of MIAA newcomer Rogers State to finish 3-3 in Conference play.<\/p>\n
Tennis was 6-5 in Olaya Garrido-Rivas\u2019 first season as head coach before any MIAA matches had been played.<\/p>\n
Both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s golf teams had just competed in one event each when the season was cut short while the track & field teams had yet to begin outdoor competition.<\/p>\n
