The Griffons play University of Central Missouri at 4 p.m. in Pittsburg, Kansas. The team beat the Mules 11-8 on Sunday, May 5 to clinch the #8 seed in the tournament.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Softball<\/strong><br \/>\nThe softball team, standing at 37-16 overall and 21-5 in the MIAA, played in the MIAA championships last weekend and came in second to University of Central Oklahoma. They finished the postseason tournament 3-2 and qualified for the NCAA Central Region Championships that start Thursday, May 9 in Winona, Minnesota.<\/p>\n<p>The Griffons&#8217; loss on May 4 to University of Central Oklahoma in the tournament snapped an 18-game winning streak.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Track and Field<\/strong><br \/>\nGriffons competed in the MIAA Championships this past weekend, tallying double-digit top 10 finishes on the final day. In the program&#8217;s second season, the women&#8217;s team took 11<sup>th<\/sup>, finishing ahead of Nebraska-Kearney and Central Oklahoma, while the men finished 12<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p><dfn><\/dfn>Hannah Williams earned a third-place finish in the women&#8217;s 400 meter run with a 54.80 in Sunday&#8217;s final and Megan Gillen ran a career-best time of 2:12.93 to take fourth place in the women&#8217;s 800 meter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s Golf<\/strong><br \/>\nWomen&#8217;s golf is playing in the NCAA Division II Central Region Championship Tuesday, May 7 for day two of the tournament in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
