The first was a loss against Lindenwood University, 75-58. On the eighth, the Griffons lost to Lincoln University 79-68, bringing their record to 5-6. The next game is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19 at home against Rockhurst University. Over the semester break, the men will play at home at 3 p.m.\u00a0 Sunday, Dec. 30 against University of Illinois Springfield in the fieldhouse.<\/p>\n<p>Two away games will also be played over the semester break:<br \/>\n7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3 University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, Oklahoma<br \/>\n3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Oklahoma<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women\u2019s Basketball<br \/>\n<\/strong>The women\u2019s basketball team played Lindenwood University on Dec. 6 and Lincoln University on Dec. 8. They lost to Lindenwood 74-60, but came back from behind to beat Lincoln 62-61. Their record now stands at 4-5.<\/p>\n<p>The women next play at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19 against Newman University, and at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30 against Adams State University. Both games are at home.<\/p>\n<p>Two away games will also be played over the semester break:<br \/>\n5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3 University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, Oklahoma<br \/>\n1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Oklahoma<\/p>\n<p><strong>Griffon Football<br \/>\n<\/strong>Griffon football (7-5) jumped out to an early lead and hung on to win the 2018 Agent Barry Live United Bowl, 30-25 over Southern Arkansas (8-4) on Dec. 1.<\/p>\n<p>Outstanding special teams and crucial plays on both sides of the ball helped Missouri Western to its first seven-win season since 2014. Senior kicker Tyler Basch was named the Agent Barry Live United Bowl MVP after going three-for-three on field goal attempts, including a Live United Bowl record 58-yard field goal at the end of the first half. Basch\u2019s bowl recordbreaking kick tied the Missouri Western record.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Track and Field<br \/>\n<\/strong>Men\u2019s and women\u2019s track and field kicked off the 2018-19 indoor season on Friday and Saturday at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic at Northwest Missouri State in Maryville.<\/p>\n<p>The Griffons had three individuals win four events at the meet. Hanna Williams<dfn><\/dfn>\u00a0took first in the women\u2019s 400 meter dash with a time of 55.14. Her time is also good for an NCAA Div. II provisional qualifying mark. Megan Gillen<dfn><\/dfn>\u00a0won two events on Saturday. She took first in the one-mile run with a time of 5:14.87 and won the 3000 meter run with a career-best time of 10:40.20.
