Can I be awarded an academic scholarship after beginning my college experience? Most academic scholarships, such as the President’s, Provost’s, and Governor’s scholarships, are awarded to qualifying first-time students. The Golden Griffon scholarship is awarded to qualifying incoming-freshmen students. However, there are many departmental scholarships that are available to all levels of students within that department.

Do I have a special advisor as an honors student? No, advisors will be selected according to the intended or declared major of each student. However, advisors will be notified of a student’s honor status and will then include the necessary honors classes in their advisement along with the student’s major requirements.
