Assistant Biology Professor, Dr. Julie Jedlicka, along with two undergraduate students, Bailee Romaker and Audrey Lindsteadt, conducted field research on birds foraging in Kenyan coffee farms during Dec. 2019 and Jan. 2020. Bailee and Audrey gained experience in mist netting birds, taking biometric data and gathering fecal samples to analyze using molecular scatology techniques in Dr. Jedlicka’s lab. In addition, they were able to spend time in local communities and take in some sightseeing trips. Funds were matched by the Peggy Iffert Scholarship fund making the trip possible.
