CAR Class - Defensive Firearms Training

December 14, 2016 - 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

CEU: 8 POST
Cost: $50
Instructor: Dr. Gregory M. Vecchi
Location: Rosecrans Air National Guard Range

The MWSU Law Enforcement Academy will be sponsoring a one-day defensive firearms training course on December 14, 2016 from 8am to 5pm.

The course will feature the Center Axis Relock (CAR) System, which is a defensive handgun shooting system designed for close-quarter combat. It is designed to work with the involuntary Body Alarm Response that occurs when the human body is under stress. The system is completely ambidextrous and eliminates any concern over the dominate eye. The CAR System is very effective in close quarters and from seated positions in a patrol vehicle. The system also employs superior gun retention.

The course will be taught by Dr. Gregory M. Vecchi, who is a certified CAR System instructor. Dr. Vecchi is retired FBI Special Agent, Hostage Negotiator, and Chief of the FBI Behavioral Science Unit, as well as a MWSU Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice. Dr. Vecchi is also an experienced NRA Law Enforcement and Civilian firearms instructor.

Items needed
