Spring Garden Middle School Students Visit MWSU – 174 8th graders from the St. Joseph School District toured Missouri Western to better understand the opportunities and benefits of selecting Missouri Western for their university experience. Students visited Blum Union, the Griffon Indoor Sports Complex, and Scanlon Hall.

Child Abuse Investigation Conference – The second annual Child Abuse Investigation Conference was held on April 16-17 on the Missouri Western campus. The conference provided a keynote and sessions for law enforcement officers, social workers, attorneys, educators, juvenile offices as well as healthcare workers and teachers. The keynote speaker was Dr. Terra Frazier who serves as Director of Medical Services for the Sunflower House Advocacy Center, General Pediatrics Physician for Children’s Mercy Hospital Urgent Care, and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the UMKC Medical School. Dr. Frazier’s address was “Introduction to Signs of Abuse.” A free public presentation by the JAYC Foundation preceded the conference with a presentation by Dr. Rebecca Bailey and Terry Probyn titled “Keeping Kids Safe: Terry Probyn’s Story.”
