Western Wireless

Availability
Missouri Western is pleased to provide wireless network access (WiFi) at various locations across campus for faculty, staff, and students. These wireless hotspots are indicated by signs in the general area. Note: General guest access is currently not supported.

Wireless access points (WAPs) may be found at the following locations:

  • IT Services Office (for support only)
  • Library (both floors)
Eder Hall
  • 1st Floor student lounge (outside Admissions)
Popplewell Hall
  • 1st Floor student lounge (Deli area)
  • 2nd Floor student lounge

Connection Information
Western Wireless supports 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11a wireless standards using WPA encryption.

NOTE: Western does not guarantee secure communications, even though encryption is provided. Use the wireless service at your own risk.

You will need to provide the Network Key to establish a connection. The following are the available wireless networks for general use, and the associated network key:

Available Networks
  • MissouriWestern-bg  (802.11b and g)
  • MissouriWestern-a  (802.11a)
Network Key: western-wireless

Network Registration
The first time you use the wireless network, you will need to register your wireless card with the Missouri Western network as you would with a wired connection.

If you need assistance in connecting, please come by the Information Technology Services department in Hearnes Center 110.
