Judith Grimes, Ph.D
Associate Vice President for Student Affairs

It has been my privilege to be a part of Missouri Western State University for over 15 years. During that time we have seen Missouri Western grow significantly. Not only do we have increasing numbers of new students, but many new facilities including our most recently completed beautiful new residence hall.

During my tenure at Missouri Western, I have enjoyed being the director of the freshman year experience, director of student success, dean of student affairs, associate vice president for student affairs and now interim vice president for student affairs. The students at Missouri Western are amazing and we are fortunate that they love this university and continue to enroll in significant numbers.

My background includes a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Spanish & Portuguese from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master's degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a concentration in higher education administration along with support areas of linguistics and reading. I spent 11 years at the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education and four years as Director of the Applied Language Institute (a joint program of the University of Missouri-Kansas City and the Metropolitan Community Colleges). I love to travel and have been fortunate to be able to do that both domestically and internationally.

Currently I oversee the various departments of the Division of Student Affairs and am the advisor for the Student Government Association. I serve on the Missouri Western Gold Coat Board of Directors and enjoy attending the many wonderful cultural and athletic events on our campus. I am located in Blum Union 228.
