All Missouri Writing entries will be scored during two sessions at Missouri Western State University on Saturday,
16, 2010. Each entry will be read at least twice by a trained reader, using the National Scholastic holistic rating rubric for writing entries.
Top scoring entries will be submitted to the Missouri Awards Selection committee, headed by Dr. Amy Lannin, Missouri Writing Projects Director Coordinator. Under her direction, Missouri writers and teachers will meet at the University of Missouri - Columbia on January 23,
2010, to select Missouri's Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention winners. These students and their teachers will be honored at the 2010 Write-to-Learn Conference in Osage Beach, MO, on Friday, February 26.
Up to 25 teachers and pre-service teachers will be needed to score Missouri and/or At-Large writing contest entries each Saturday. Signup online to be a rater ($70 or $80 stipend per session).
