Read this year's winning contest writings in the 2009 edition of Missouri Youth Write.  
 

Students, grades 7 - 12, are eligible to participate in The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Contest of 2010.  Visit www.artandwriting.org for
  • Submission guidelines and contest entry forms (Missouri entries due: Friday, January 15, 2010). 
  • Virtual galleries of past award-winning art and writing;
  • Information about winners' exhibitions, publications, and scholarships.

Click here to be a scorer at the Missouri Region and National Scholastic Adjudication Writing Awards Contest Scoring Session at Missouri Western State University, Blum 222/223, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, on Saturday, January 16, 2010.
Missouri Region winners and their teachers will be honored at the 2010 Write-to-Learn Conference in Osage Beach, MO, on Friday, February 26, where winning writings will be displayed.  Missouri student winners will receive

  • Gold Key, Silver Key, or Honorable Mention awards and certificates;
  • Copy of The Best Teen Writing of 2009: Selected national award recipients from The Scholastic Awards of 2009;
  • An autographed copy of a featured speaker's book at this year's Write-to-Learn Conference

All Missouri* Region winning entries will be published online in the 2010 edition of Missouri Youth Write.  Gold Key winners' work will also be judged for national awards and scholarships, with winners honored at Scholastic's Celebration Events in New York in June 2010. 


*Includes schools in the greater Kansas City, KS, area.
