Meeting the Needs of Districts

As experienced educators in professional development, we understand that no two districts are alike and every district has specific needs based on diverse student and faculty/staff populations.  It is the goal of the Missouri Western RPDC to address those needs on an individual basis.

Besides focusing on leadership, instructional strategies, various school improvement reforms, and data analysis, the RPDC has a full-time MELL Instructional Specialist.  As districts grow into the need of addressing English Language Learners and the ever-growing Migrant population, the RPDC will be able to provide meaningful professional development for those leaders and instructors to deal with these diverse populations.

While the Missouri Western Region is comprised of excellent school districts who provide high quality education for their students, the professional development offered by the Missouri Western RPDC will help keep these educators apprised of innovative techniques of instruction in the 21st century.

What is the RPDC?

The RPDC is an organization that helps to address the professional development needs of the schools based on individualized needs.  The RPDC is funded through the Missouri Department of Education and, as in the case of Missouri Western RPDC, is overseen by a university system.

Mission

Build the capacity of educators and schools to maximize student performance through high quality professional development.

Vision

Professional development and support for schools is delivered through regional learning centers composed of content specialist with expertise to meet school/district needs.  These teams model a collaborative, seamless learning community and facilitate goal-alike networks to promote and sustain effective schools.

Goals

  1. Raise achievement for all students and close the achievement gap among subgroups.
  2. Increase the quality (instructional and leadership skills) of teachers and administrators in the region.
  3. Increase reading, math, science and social studies achievement in the region through the high quality professional development of teachers.
