Residence Halls

Scanlon Hall is a coed building that houses first time - first year students only. Programming and activities are geared with first year students in mind. Wings are same gender and residents of the opposite gender must be escorted 24/7. It is staffed with one residence hall director, 16 student Resident assistants, and two student peer mentors.

  • Accessible single (hallway is 16' x 8' 4", closet area is 3' 3" deep x 3' 6" wide, electronic card access to rooms)

Who is James J. Scanlon?

James J. Scanlon served as Missouri Western's president from 2001-2008. Upon his retirement, the university's Board of Governors honored his service by designating him President Emeritus and naming Scanlon Hall after him.
