CAMPUS SAFETY
We Value Safety and Security
The University makes every effort to develop campus facilities, buildings, and grounds that are designed and maintained in such a way as to promote safety and reduce criminal opportunity. Procedures to promote safety within residence halls include staffed desks in each building, cameras, a limited access program requiring residents to show their key and ID to enter their residence hall building. Never allow someone who is not a member of your community to enter the building by using your card key. Every student is also issued a room key for entry to their room. By keeping your door locked, you greatly reduce the risk of being the victim of a crime. The MWSU Police Department in conjunction with the Department of Residential Life offers programs throughout the year on personal safety, security of property, crisis intervention, and crime prevention.
Most important, please remember that campus safety is a joint responsibility between students and the University. By keeping your door locked, not propping doors and reporting security concerns, you will do your part to promote a safer campus.
