CONTRACT RENEWAL

The Office of Residential Life will hold contract renewal sessions the week of April 23,2012. As some of you know, Contract Renewal is held so current residents have the opportunity to re-sign for an on-campus housing assignment.

As always, only students who have pre-registered for fall classes are eligible for fall room assignments.

Fall 2012 Pre-registration begins April 2, 2012.

Contract Renewal Sessions are separated by class level similar to fall 2012 Registration. Class level is determined by credit hours earned added to the credit hours you are attempting this semester (Note: Student-Athletes, Honors and VIP's sign up by class level also.) If your credit hours qualify you to pre-register for classes as a senior, you may sign up for a room during a senior session. If you register as a junior attend contract renewal during junior session, and so on.

If you do not pre-register for Fall '12 classes you will not be allowed to re-sign for a fall room assignment.

As in years past, there will be rooms off-line and will not be available for re-assignment. These rooms will be listed in a brochure to follow. Beshears, Logan Hall and Juda Hall residents must have at least 30 credit hours for super single assignments. Griffon Hall residents must be junior or senior class level or 21 years of age.

Steps to Take and Things to Note When Renewing Your Contract

• Students MUST be registered for Fall 2012 classes before they will be allowed to re-sign for a Fall 2012room assignment.

• Make sure that you have your student ID.

• First check what priority day you qualify for.

• Make sure your contract is completely filled out before coming to renew your contract.

• Students who have lived off campus for at least one semester will need to submit $100 deposit with their contract.

• Arrive at the Commons during your scheduled time.

• Residents are able to renew their contract plus one other contract if so desired. If renewing someone else’s contract it must be filled out and renewed on the appropriate day.

• All roommate requests must be mutual (i.e. noted on both contracts). 

• After the Contract Renewal process, no room changes can be made until after the 10th day of class during the Fall Semester.

• Residence hall contracts are for the entire academic year unless noted on the contract.

• A $100.00 cancellation fee will be assessed when a student cancels their agreement after June 1.
