Remington Hall / Agenstein Hall Projects

Missouri Western State University is immensely proud of the major addition and renovation of its science and math building, Agenstein Hall, now underway. The addition and improvements are the result of a major gift of $5 million from Wes and Patsy Remington.

The construction of the 54,000 sq ft. Remington Hall addition began in earnest in July 2008. When completed in December 2009, the Agenstein/ Remington Hall Complex will feature substantial improvements and innovations.

Overall, the project will increase the usable space available to 123,000 sq ft for the departments of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Math, and Physics.

Students using the Remington Hall facility will enjoy state of the art laboratories especially designed to enhance the collaborative learning experience. Additionally, the old laboratories in Agenstein Hall will be renovated into state of the art collaborative learning classrooms. The improved lecture halls will have wider tiers and moveable chairs to allow students to more fully experience collaborative learning. The spacious student/faculty research areas will be quadrupled in size to 6,500 sq ft. The renovations to Agenstein Hall are projected to be complete December 2010.

Student and faculty gathering spaces are also featured in the design of the building. The atrium connecting the two halls will feature a cafe with seating for eighty, along with commons areas and balconies that will be located on the east side of Remington. These features and several small meeting alcoves are located throughout the two halls and are designed to give the science and mathematics students a home away from home while they are at Missouri Western.
