Bryan Courtney - Project Director

Bryan has extensive experience in the development of
the Institute and in the development of community
policing within the state of Missouri. Bryan joined
the Institute as a training specialist shortly after
the cooperative agreement for the RCPI was awarded
to Missouri Western State University in September of
1997. While a training specialist he zigzagged all
across the state delivery training and technical
assistance to a wide variety of police agencies and
communities. In June 2000, Bryan was appointed MWSU-RCPI
Deputy Director. Bryan remained the Deputy Director
until being appointed Interim Program Director in
July 2002. Bryan was hired as Project Manager in
September 2002. Bryan received his Bachelor's Degree
from Missouri Western State University in Criminal
Justice. He has also attended Washburn University in
Topeka, Kansas and received a Master of Science in
Criminal Justice. Bryan began his career in the
criminal justice field as a public safety officer
with the Maryville Public Safety Department in
Maryville, MO. Bryan was a PSO for just short of six
years.
Tom Charrette - Training Coordinator

Tom has extensive experience in the development
of the MWSU-RCPI and community policing in
Missouri. Tom joined the MWSU-RCPI in September
of 1997 as a training specialist. In addition to
his responsibilities as a training specialist
Tom is also the Institute Training Coordinator.
Tom has been involved in law enforcement for 22
years. He has served as Assistant Chief at
Central Missouri State University and the
University of Kansas. He has been the Chief of
Police at Knob Noster, Missouri and a Special
Deputy for Johnson County for 15 years. Tom has
been teaching in a basic academy and in-service
classes since 1980.
Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts
degrees from Central Missouri State University,
Warrensburg, Missouri.
