Bryan Courtney Bryan Courtney - Project Director

Bryan has extensive experience in the development of the Institute and in the development of community policing within the state of Missouri. Bryan joined the Institute as a training specialist shortly after the cooperative agreement for the RCPI was awarded to Missouri Western State University in September of 1997. While a training specialist he zigzagged all across the state delivery training and technical assistance to a wide variety of police agencies and communities. In June 2000, Bryan was appointed MWSU-RCPI Deputy Director. Bryan remained the Deputy Director until being appointed Interim Program Director in July 2002. Bryan was hired as Project Manager in September 2002. Bryan received his Bachelor's Degree from Missouri Western State University in Criminal Justice. He has also attended Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas and received a Master of Science in Criminal Justice. Bryan began his career in the criminal justice field as a public safety officer with the Maryville Public Safety Department in Maryville, MO. Bryan was a PSO for just short of six years.
