Observation Sites
When observing in a hospital or clinic setting, it is
expected that you conduct yourself professionally. Attire is business
casual. No jeans or shorts, no t-shirts with writing on them. Be on
time, and stay for the agreed upon amount of time. Respect the patient's
right to confidentiality. Talk to the PT or PTA privately concerning
whether they prefer that you to ask questions in the presence of the
patient or after the treatment.
Heartland System
For observation at any Heartland site, please contact Megan Madget at
816-271-8814 in the Center for Healing Generosity, or visit the web at
www.heartland-health.com/jobshadow. This is a necessary first step
before contacting the therapy site directly. As this process takes some
time, contact Heartland early. At least two of your observation hours should
be completed at Heartland inpatient acute.
