Applied Learning
The Psychology Department was one of the pioneers at Western involving undergraduate students in research and applied learning opportunities. All Psychology majors complete an independent research project as part of the PSY302 course. In addition, students can take a separate independent research course (More Information).

Undergraduate Research conducted between August, 1995 and May, 1997 is archived here. Since the Summer of 1997, all student research conducted in the department has been posted on the National Undergraduate Research Clearinghouse site which was developed at Western with a grant from the National Science Foundation.

The Psychology Department founded (with the Biology Department) the Multidisciplinary Research Day event to provide our students with an outlet to present the results of their applied learning experiences.

All research conducted by the faculty and students of MWSU is in compliance with the APA Ethical Principles and the MWSU Human Subjects Committee [CUHSR].
