Here is where I call my home
On this farm outside of town
The cities build up all around
But I stay here, standing my ground.
I spend my days in the fields
And nights protecting my livestock
There is no time for myself
Trying to make a living.
If I’m not planting corn
Mowing hay or fixing fence
I’m in my hunting stand
Trying to put food on the table.
I work so hard every day
My hands are dry and calloused
There is not a problem I can’t fix
With a hammer and a pair of pliers.
I help my neighbors
They help me in return
Lending a helping hand,
Just like family.
My farm grows like a newborn
Learning how to walk.
It soon runs free and wild
With Mother Nature by its side.
