Tom Pankiewicz was part of a
panel that presented The Summer Institute in the Digital Age. Jane Frick and Mary Lee Meyer attended a meeting to report on the Writing and Technology grant that the Prairie Land Writing Project received for the 2005 year. PLWP was one of six sites to be selected for the grant. News of renewal of the grant was very exciting. Look for further reports about this meeting in upcoming communications. |

The Missouri Writing Network held a dinner meeting and celebrated Jane Frick’s birthday. |

Rebecca got to meet one of her favorite poets, Ted Kooser—Poet Laureate. Rebecca is currently writing a proposal for a mini grant to showcase poetry by rural youth. |
Give a group of teachers a piece of clay and tell them to make the creatures for a story that will within the next 30 minutes become a digital movie and they will give it their all. Digital Storytelling: A Cross-Grade Claymation Adventure by Kevin Hodgson showed these teachers how to complete the adventure. |
