Kudos to our PLWP leadership team members who participated in this year's National Writing Project/National Council of Teachers of English annual meetings in San Antonio, TX, November 19-23: Jane Frick, Christie Leigan, Mary Lee Meyer, Heidi Mick, Tom Pankiewicz, Stacia Studer, and Valorie Stokes. PLWP presenters included Tom and Stacia, "What Is Academic Writing?"; Tom and Jane, "Visioning Retreats as a Strategy for Site Development"; and Valorie, "Thinking Strategically about your Site’s Online Presence." Tom, Jane, and Valorie participated in meetings of the NWP Director's Retreat, Regional and State Networks, and Web Presence Retreat leadership teams, respectively. Stacia, Heidi, Jane, and Valorie, also conducted a session, "Missouri's Literacy Academy Experience: Enhancing Teachers' Literacy Practices through Exploration, Demonstration, Collaboration, and Conversation," at the NCTE convention.
Vicky Bryan (2002 Institute) and Dawn Smith (2000 Institute) achieved their National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification this month.
