High School Writing Day 2007

Introduction	Missouri Western State University, Prairie Lands Writing Project, and the St. Joseph School District sponsored a writing day for area high school students
Welcome	and their teachers on March 1, 2007. Missouri Western State University instructors and Prairie Lands Writing Project teacher consultants along with
Keynote Speaker	National Writing Project teacher consultant Marcia Hansen presented workshops on a variety of writing topics.
Workshops	It was a March day to remember with one schools from the northern region unable to attend due to a freak snow storm. By the day’s
Open Mic	end, interstates were closed north of St. Joseph and at least one PLWP individual was snowed out of home.
Teacher’s Luncheon	Students and teachers who attended seemed to have a great time writing. After the workshops, an open mic session allowed student writers to share their pieces.
