“Celebrating Place-Based Writing”
	High School Writing Day opened with a welcome from Missouri Western State University President Scanlon.
	Stefanie Lyle, HSWD director, welcomed all students, teachers, presenters, and guests.
	Rebecca Dierking, Celebrating Rural Poetry director, discussed the “Celebrating Rural Poetry” contest.
	Tom Pankiewicz, National Writing Project Teacher Consultant, used Ted Kooser’s poem “So This Is Nebraska” as a writing prompt to open the session “So This Is Missouri: The Road to School”.
	“Teaching in a Digital World”, Valorie Stokes, coordinator for Prairie Lands Writing Project’s participation in the NWP’s National Technology Initiative, describes technology projects underway in Northwest Missouri at the teachers, presenters, and administrators luncheon.
