THIS IS A HYBRID COURSE, MEETING FACE-TO-FACE AND ONLINE.
Class Meeting Dates: 8 Tuesdays (8/27, 9/3, 9/17, 10/1, 10/15, 10/29, 11/12, and 12/3) from 4:30 – 6:20 PM in Eder 210 at Missouri Western State University. Instructor: Tom Pankiewicz, English instructor and Prairie Lands co-director, (email@example.com)
Course Description: Naming…Listing…Summarizing…Defining…Classifying…Comparing…Contrasting…Problem solving…These are the thought patterns we use to get things done in the world. And we expect our students know them as well. This course—based on Get It Done: Writing and Analyzing Informational Texts to Make Things Happen—will examine ways to teach our students how to understand and use these thought patterns effectively in their conversations, reading and writing. We will meet in person on the dates listed above and study these concepts in the laboratory of our classrooms and share our class’s work through an online discussion. Think Tank TCs and teachers from Braymer, Breckenridge, and Hamilton will receive free texts, tuition, and mileage reimbursements if they register by August 13 for this two-credit graduate institute.
