This institute re-examines the role of narrative in our classrooms and the role it plays in our lives and the lives of our students. Teachers write their own narratives and create teaching units that engage students in discovering self and the world around them. Participants meet from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Thursday, July 8-11, in Murphy Hall 107 Computer Lab and Murphy Hall 108 Classroom at Missouri Western. Text: So, What's the Story: Teaching Narrative to Understand Ourselves, Others, and the World by James Fredericksen, Jeffrey Wilhelm, and Michael Smith. Note: Until Friday, May 24, enrollment is limited to teachers from PLWP's College Ready-Writing Project schools (Breckenridge, Braymer, and Hamilton).
