Greef Award

Every Missouri University and college offering a teaching degree in English presents the Robert J. Greef State Award annually to a graduating senior in English who plans to make teaching his or her career.  The award is named after the late Robert J. Greef, a one time English department chair at Central Missouri State University.  Dr. Greef believed so strongly in the importance of excellent English teaching that he founded the award bearing his name.
