Christie teaches at Christie’s workshop was designed to provide K-2 educators with various instructional ideas for teaching shared and interactive writing. Christie is a Prairie Lands teacher consultant.
*This workshop is designed to provide K-2 educators with various instructional ideas for teaching shared and interactive writing. Christie will begin by reviewing the research supporting the use of the Ohio State Literacy frameworks. She will then focus on two of the four writing components, shared and interactive writing. You will receive many student examples that will show the progression of writing across the school year in Christie’s kindergarten classroom. You will also receive many examples of shared reading books that may be used as starting points for teaching shared and interactive writing lessons. Come prepared to work together to create a shared writing story based on a common interest and discuss how this activity could be adapted to work in K-2 classrooms. You will also leave this session with a handout that will include research, lesson ideas, materials used, and helpful websites.
