Polanyi Society Membership,
Meetings and Electronic Discussion Group
The Polanyi Society is a scholarly professional
organization formed in the early seventies; its objective is to promote
exchange among persons interested in the thought of Michael Polanyi. The
Society has approximately 300 members across the world. Tradition and
Discovery: The Polanyi Society Periodical is distributed to all members.
Annual dues are $25 and are paid at the beginning of September each year.
The student membership rate is $12/year. For additional information about
membership or to subscribe contact Phil
Mullins (mullins@missouriwestern.edu).
The Polanyi Society has a regular annual meeting held in conjunction with
the annual meetings of the American Academy of Religion and the Society
for Biblical Literature. The AAR/SBL meetings are always in a large North
American city in late November. At least one session of the Polanyi Society
annual meeting includes presentation and discussion of scholarly papers
which are made available to interested members before the gathering. Details
about the Polanyi Society annual meeting, as well as any other meetings
focusing on Polanyi's thought, are published in Tradition and Discovery.
The Polanyi Society sponsors an electronic discussion group. Anyone interested
can join the list by sending a request to subscribe to Doug Masini (masini@etsu.edu),
the moderator for the list.
