Other Journals with Special Interest in the Thought of Michael Polanyi

In addition to Tradition and Discovery: The Polanyi Society Periodical, there are two other journals with special interest in the thought of Michael Polanyi.

Polanyiana, The Periodical of the Michael Polanyi Liberal Philosophical Association, as its title suggests, is published by the Michael Polanyi Liberal Philosophical Association (MPLA), centered in Hungary, Polanyi's country of origin. Polanyiana began publication in 1992; the MPLA publishes some numbers and articles in Hungarian and some in English; some materials are in both languages. Listed below are the early numbers of Polanyiana which are predominantly in English; the tables of contents for each issue is linked. This is not a complete list of all issues. Information about Hungarian materials is available from the MPLA. Some issues of Polanyiana (some in English, some in Hungarian and some is both languages) began to be put on the Polanyiana WWW site in 1997 (http://www.kfki.hu/chemonet/polanyi/). The first issue of Appraisal: A Journal of Constructive and Post-Critical Philosophy and Interdisciplinary Studies appeared in Spring, 1996. The journal is edited and published by Dr. R. T. Alllen. (rt.allen@ntlworld.com or 20 Ulverscroft Road, Loughborough, Leics LE11 3PU, England). It comes out twice a year in March and October; there are four issues in a volume. The Library of Congress serials number for Appraisal is ISSN 1358-3336. Each issue normally has some articles and reviews on topics related to Polanyi's thought (one issue was fully devoted to Polanyi) but issues are thematic and therefore treat an array of topics; http://homepage.ntlworld.com/rt.allen/appindex.htm is the web site for Appraisal.
