About the Team

The Mystics Dance Team has been directed by Kayla Hinton, for many years. Previous to her direction, the Mystics were called the Golden Girls and the Griffettes. With the equality of the 90's, the group found a more fitting name which was not gender specific, yet related to the theme of the mascot and its heritage.

The dance team at MWSU has been in existence for many, many years. It has seen many changes throughout the years and the team is proud to be at the level it is today.

The Mystics are a part of the MWSU Golden Griffon Marching Band during the Fall semester. The team performs dance and auxiliary routines at all home football games as well as parades, exhibitions, tournaments, and special performances.

During the Spring semester the Mystics Dance Team performs at selected MWSU basketball games as well as pep rallies and special outside games and events.
